Individual Counselling
Individual counseling sessions use evidence-based treatment approaches uniquely tailored to each person's needs & story. Together we find an approach that begins where you are rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, as well as values the resources you already have in your life.
REiki
Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
group counselLing
Group counselling is a form of therapy where people with similar experiences/issues come together with a professional counselor. Generally everyone contributes in some way, listening to others and talking themselves. It's usually focused on a particular issue.
Individual Counselling
I have dedicated my professional life to helping youth and adults find their way back to themselves and out of really difficult, harrowing and challenging circumstances in their life.
My career began with supporting youth who had been trafficked into the sex trade and has since organically evolved into supporting young people and adults living with trauma, depression, anxiety, LGBTQ+, as well as a full spectrum of mental health concerns.
My treatment approach draws upon these 15+ years of experience as well as sound training in Dialectic Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and somatic approaches to trauma.
Integrating these evidenced based approaches together has fostered innovative, intelligent and intuitive treatment that meets my clients’ individual needs – rather than trying to fit someone’s story into a one-size-fits-all approach. Together we find a way to honor the parts of your story that gives you strength, resources, and courage to face the parts of your narrative that you can rewrite and reimagine.
REIKI
Reiki, a system of natural healing Body Mind Spirit.
A gentle and effective way to Relieve Pain, Replenish Energy & Release stress and Tension
Accelerate recovery from Injury and Illness & Promote Health and Well being
The Usui System of Reiki is a natural healing art formalized in Japan at the turn of the century
from an ancient healing system which existed in Tibet. Reiki is the Japanese word for the
Universal Life Force Energy that flows through all that is alive.
Reiki is a powerful method for achieving balanced physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
The healing energy of Reiki accelerates the release of energy blocks and enhances the body’s
ability to restore itself.
Reiki does not conflict with other therapies, medical procedures or treatments. A treatment lasts
an hour during which time you are fully clothed. You set the focus for the treatment and Reiki
will give you what you need.
Working intuitively with you I gently place my hands on specific areas of your body. The energy
transfer is experienced differently by each client. Clients have described the sensation as
warm, cool, vibrating, tingly and flowing.
On a physical level Reiki can:
•Bring relaxation to stressed muscles
•Reduce pain, swelling and inflammation from infection, injury illness, surgery or the side
effects of drugs
•Speed up the release of toxins
•Accelerate recovery from illness and injury
•Relieves migraines
Group CounselLing
Group counselling is counselling with multiple individuals facing a similar concern. The strength in group counselling is that if you have 3, 5 or 10 people together all facing the same or similar issues, then they can work together. Group counselling is common for those suffer from addiction and mental health disorders. The individuals in the group act as a source of insight and support while reinforcing the idea that each individual is not the only one experiencing these problems.
It can also be a good form of family counselling, where maybe styles of communications and personality types might clash when voicing feelings, expectations or just plain opinions.
Having a third party facilitate a safe / mediative space along with skills in group counselling and therapy can be quite positive and galvanizing to the soul and the relationship at hand between the group.
